22bet Kenya: What a Kenyan Player Actually Gets

Maurice Ojuok, betting editor, Kenya. Checked on 7 August 2026.

Affiliate material dates 22bet's arrival in Kenya to 2017, and the Kenyan build of the site is a separate thing from the international one: a local licence on the geo-block page, shillings in the cashier, M-Pesa and Airtel Money instead of wallets nobody here uses. This page is what I would tell a friend before he moved money in.

Every figure below was collected on 7 August 2026 and I have said where each one comes from. Deposit floors and bonus caps move, so treat the cashier and the promo page inside your own account as the final word, not a screenshot someone posted last season.

Is 22bet licensed in Kenya?

22Bet Kenya licence notice: Nuntis Holdings Limited, licences BK-0001293 and PG-0001294
The licence text at the foot of the 22bet geo-block page, read on 7 August 2026.

Yes, and the paperwork is on the site rather than buried. The geo-block page names Nuntis Holdings Limited as the operating company and prints two licence numbers, BK-0001293 and PG-0001294, with a reference to Act 1966.

Until recently the body behind those numbers was the Betting Control and Licensing Board. From 2026 the market is run by the Gambling Regulatory Authority of Kenya under the Gambling Control Act 2025, and bclb.go.ke now redirects to gra.go.ke, which is the fastest way to confirm the handover yourself.

One wrinkle. A brand guide on Kenyan bonuses names Pesa Bets Ltd rather than Nuntis Holdings behind the same licence numbers, so I have kept the name printed on the operator's own page and flagged the other as unverified. And if you land on a page saying 22bet runs on a Curacao licence, that describes the international site, not the Kenyan one. Traffic on the site runs over SSL.

The welcome bonus and the 5x rollover

Sports side: 100% up to KES 19,000, triggered by a deposit of at least KES 150. Casino side is a package worth up to KES 60,000 plus 250 free spins.

You will see KES 15,000 quoted as the sports welcome offer in places, including one of the brand's own app guides. The cashier strings on the Kenyan site say 19,000, and the cashier is the platform rather than an article about it, so that is the figure I go with. The 15,000 does exist elsewhere: a Friday reload of up to 15,000 appears in the brand guides but not in the platform strings, so treat it as unconfirmed until it shows up on your own promo page.

Now the part that costs people the bonus. Rollover is 5x the bonus amount, and it has to be cleared with accumulators of three or more events, three of those legs priced from 1.40, inside seven days. Singles do nothing for it. If you back one match a weekend at short prices, skip the bonus and deposit plain. There is no penalty for doing that.

M-Pesa is the default rail, Airtel Money is the alternative, and Visa and MasterCard are there for card users. 22bet charges no commission of its own in either direction; what you pay is the Safaricom or Airtel tariff on the transfer.

Two numbers in that table that confuse people

The KES 10 minimum comes from an affiliate page and the KES 150 is the platform's own bonus threshold, so they are not really rivals. Ten shillings may fund the account; it does nothing for the welcome offer. The current M-Pesa minimum is not published anywhere I would stake money on, and it shifts, so the cashier is the only honest answer.

On payouts, an old affiliate figure of about 48 hours still circulates. The operator's payment page says 15 minutes to 24 hours, and that is what I have used. In practice your first withdrawal is slower than your fifth, because of verification.

The M-Pesa paybill number

Here I am going to be blunt instead of helpful. Two different paybill numbers appear in the brand's own guides, and third party directories repeat one of them. I am not printing either, because a wrong paybill sends your cash to a stranger's till and nobody is refunding that.

The number shown inside your own cashier is the only one that counts. Log in, open the deposit screen, pick M-Pesa, and read the paybill and account reference off that screen. Our paybill page will carry the number once it is confirmed from a live cashier and not before.

Opening an account, step by step

Nothing exotic here, but a couple of steps trip people up.

  1. Open the registration form on the Kenyan site and choose your sign-up method. More detail sits on the registration page.
  2. Enter your Kenyan phone number. It gets confirmed with a code by SMS.
  3. If you sign up with email, the confirmation link is valid for 72 hours. Let it lapse and you request a fresh one.
  4. The account number is issued by the system, you do not choose it. Save it, because support asks for it first.
  5. One account per person, household, IP address, device and payment method. Two flatmates registering on the same phone is a blocking risk, not a loophole.
  6. Deposit KES 150 or more if you want the sports welcome bonus.

Verification, and why to do it before you win

Get this out of the way on a quiet evening rather than the night your accumulator lands. You need a passport, national ID or driving licence, proof of address dated within the last three months, and a screenshot of the payment method you use.

The stated turnaround is 24 hours, stretching to 72 if they come back asking for more documents. The name on the ID and the name on the M-Pesa line need to be the same person, which is the usual sticking point when someone bets from a relative's number.

When you cannot log in

The access controls are ordinary: CAPTCHA on the form, optional two-factor authentication, and a cap on failed login attempts. A VPN is a listed reason for refusing access, so switch it off before you blame the site.

Forgotten password resets go by email or by phone, and you can log in by SMS or through a social network if that suits you. Changing your phone number is done in the profile and confirmed by code, which matters if you have moved from a Safaricom line to Airtel or the other way. Symptoms and fixes are collected on the login page.

The app on Android and iPhone

On iPhone the app is listed on the Kenyan App Store and wants iOS 14.0 or newer, so an old iPhone stuck on an earlier version is out.

On Android it is an APK downloaded from the mobile page. Google Play is not used, and the brand does not publish a minimum Android version or the file size, which is mildly annoying if you are counting bundle megabytes at the end of the month. Installation notes are on the app page.

The line and the casino

22Bet Kenya live dealer tables

The operator quotes 30 and more markets per event, which is generous on the Premier League and thins out fast on lower leagues, as it does everywhere. An affiliate figure of more than 6,400 competitions in the line is out there, unverified, and I would read it as marketing rather than a count you can audit.

Casino stock sits at roughly 1,000 or more titles depending on region, per a brand guide. No exact Kenyan number is published, so what your account shows is what you get.

Support and keeping it under control

Kenyan support runs on +254 116 415 393, support-co.ke@22bet.com, and live chat on the site. Have your account number ready, it shortens the conversation considerably.

If betting has stopped being entertainment, the responsible gambling line for Kenya is 0800 723 770. Deposit KES 150 you can lose, not KES 15,000 you cannot.

FAQ

Is 22bet legal in Kenya?

The Kenyan site shows licence numbers BK-0001293 and PG-0001294 under Nuntis Holdings Limited, with a reference to Act 1966. Oversight passed from the Betting Control and Licensing Board to the Gambling Regulatory Authority of Kenya under the Gambling Control Act 2025, and bclb.go.ke now redirects to gra.go.ke.

What is the minimum deposit at 22bet Kenya?

KES 150 is the threshold for the sports welcome bonus. Airtel Money deposits start at KSh 112 per the brand guide, and an affiliate quotes KES 10 as a bare funding minimum. The current M-Pesa minimum is not published reliably, so read it in the cashier.

How long does a 22bet withdrawal take?

The payment page quotes 15 minutes to 24 hours, with a minimum of about KES 225. The operator takes no commission, though Safaricom and Airtel still charge their own tariffs. An unverified account will wait longer.

What is the 22bet paybill number?

We do not publish one. Two conflicting numbers appear in the brand's own guides and in local directories, and sending money to the wrong paybill is unrecoverable. Open the M-Pesa deposit screen in your cashier and use the number shown there.

Can I download the 22bet app from Google Play?

No. Android users take the APK from the mobile page. iPhone users install from the Kenyan App Store listing, which requires iOS 14.0 or above.

Why would my 22bet account be blocked?

The rule is one account per person, household, IP, device and payment method, so duplicate accounts in one house are the common cause. A VPN can also get access refused. Contact support on +254 116 415 393 or support-co.ke@22bet.com with your system-issued account number.
